A Confession to One of My Dearest Friends

Here's to friendship.

Hell old friend.

I don't know if you'll ever read this, but I Love you.

I loved you when we spent breaks at work together. I remember one time we split a tub of ice cream in 30 minutes. Your favorite was the chocolate half, mine the vanilla.

I loved you when I came over the first time. You told me you were upset, so I got us both smoothies. I was so awkward just standing In your kitchen while your dog kept barking at me. I met your mom properly for the first time.

I loved you when you invited me to your birthday party. I remember getting you a bunch of gag gifts, including a lego jeep. I gave you a rock in the shape of a heart.

I loved you on valentines day, despite you cancelling on me. I thought we could just be friends that day regardless, but that was okay.

I loved you when you came to the concert auction. I had a great solo that I wanted you to hear. We caught dinner afterwards. You finally told me about your boyfriend.

I loved you even the next day, and the next.

I loved you despite being ignored. I cared so much about you and your well being that every time you had a bad day I'd be there for you.

I loved you even when it broke my heart to do so. I left your life as a final hope that it would make you happier.

I'll be waiting for the day we can connect once more. Until then, I wish you the best.
