A City Awakens
A Poem of a City Morning
Wide awake as the first train passes with diesel engine roaring its good morning
I contemplate another stormy winters day and how many cluster headaches will visit my brain today!
A helicopter passes low on its way to God knows where,
but rare is such an early morning sound,
so it must be an emergency of some kind.
It is still dark this early winter morning and it is seven bells am.
A plane roars upwards no doubt heading for warmer climes,
or maybe it is the business classes heading to work.
Another train passes,
the city is getting busier by the minute,
though the street lights believe it is still night as they shine on.
Time for a cuppa and two mince pies,
for it is the season to be jolly,
and there is no particular reason why.
If you like my poetry, stories, photograph and art and can afford it, please leave a tip so I can try and achieve my goal of becoming an established author, and to all those who have already tipped me and read my poetry, stories and have seen my photographs, I thank you so very much.
Best wishes,
Aunidan
