A Haunting Poem Written About the Terrorist Attack on 9/11/2001

The smoke

The screams

So much terror all around

The metal

Twisting

The terrorist earthquake brought it down

The streets

Were filled

With a river of blood and tears

The families

All broken

Anticipating their worst fears

Little girls

At home

Waiting for their parents to return

Little boys

In tears

Watching swarms of people run

Charred and sooty cloth

A tourniquet

To a fireman in need

See the light fading

From his eyes

Carry the message to his family

All lines were busy

Putting life

Forever on hold

Too must

Too fast

You'd think the story would've gotten old

One day

Of Hell

Changed every life in the world

Maybe one day

We'll learn

That evil cannot be quelled.
