They're all dead inside
The fire has gone from their blood
Bones rub against flesh
Endlessly
Tirelessly
Searching for reason,
For fate
For safety
It's true we'd feel better if it was simply out of our hands
A part of the biggest plan
The truth is of no consequence if it does not comfort man in search of purpose
We warm ourselves with drink, chemicals, the bodies of strangers and yet we remain as empty as always, colder even
Longing for a promise kept by an illusion
We do not exist for the sake of our own ego, we are made of things that never die but we are trapped in a form aware of its own fate
And so we choose to ignore the big picture, we focus on the absolute minute and that way we aren't afraid that we are wasting whatever it is we have. Whatever it is that makes us so much different than other animals
