Your Left Angel

A Poem

What lingers in the darkest shadows

Very few of us ever see

But it still remains, waiting there

Forever watching you and me

The voice that whispers in your left ear

The one fighting with your right

The one that speaks of your deepest fears

The one that starts the fights

The one that masterminds your sins

The one behind your darkest plans

His voice is clear and always heard

When you do wrong, you shake his hand

He can’t be stopped nor controlled

He is ruled by no one but him

His persuasion takes its toll

Every time you choose to sin

He is old as time, as young as day

He has taken his fair share of souls

He’s the Devil, some may say

That traps you in your endless hole

So he’ll watch from the shadows

Only speaking when it’s time

He’ll take your soul forever

Leaving you without a rhyme
