No outcry, no laughter…
No noise at all…
All that reigns is deadly silence!!”
As you throw out the words,
As if they’ll traverse through vacuum...
You’ll tell it loud,
Yet suppose, they can’t be heard…
“As silence roars, your pain will grow…
Like ignited fire the sparks will show…”
Your expressions will hunt for directions…
You will live in the fraction of fractions…
In a world of stillness, you are the prey!
The mute explanations will creep up to your peeper…
And once they saturate, they’ll rain down your eyes…
The malleable pleasure will perplex your heart…
You will forget what you were running for...
You will forget what you craved for…
You’ll pray for mercy,
You will cry out, but silence,
You will whine in agony,
“For you can’t be heard...
You cannot “say”…
In this world of silence…
There’s no other way…”
You’ll ask HIM to expunge your pain...
But for a fact, they will stay…
To decrepit your soul and rot your tears…
Silence will teach you the lesson…
And when you’re too full for more, you will burp silence…
Suppose there is no music to fill your ears...
No tune to tap your feet…
No song to speak your mind, or to express your heart…
No vibrations to affect your feelings…
The telephone would ring and you won’t know…
A missed call or two, the screen would show…
People will criticize; at you, they will laugh…
You can see yet you can’t hear…
To retaliate
You can scream, you can screech…
But remember they won’t hear…
You will frown, disturb your mind…
And you have nothing to do…
You’ll think in mind…
“Where’s the melody rascal?”
“Where’s the sound?”
“Where’s the audible expression?”
“Where’s the life to live in ears?”
“Where’s the word we’ve so long craved to hear,
Or the word, the very thought of which, made us fear?
Silence will roar…
Silence will smile…
Silence will make you half fragile…
Silence will live...
Silence won’t die…
Silence won’t heal…
Silence won’t cry…

Disarmament
They say there's no atheism in the foxhole. While I wasn't currently neck-deep in a river of soft sediment, I was still praying to whoever would listen. Why am I doing this again? I would ponder while staring at the device that in no less than a minute could be my undoing. I scanned each and every variable panel and commonplace button as I watched the bright red L.E.D ticker countdown. No wires to cut, no code to put in, there was only one way to stop this infernal machine, and that incurred perfect timing.
