Words

'They're sneaky, deceptive things...'

Words

are sneaky,

deceptive

things.

For some,

they seem to be

perfect,

always managing

to be wise

or profound.

Words

are

fickle.

When spoken,

they are accompanied

by a commitment

that is seldom carried through,

painting their host as untrustworthy.

The soul

is very much

an enemy of words,

for words

are so eager to agree

with the soul,

that they force themselves to be heard.

The soul

is pleased

until it must live up to the things

that the words so naïvely

claimed.

For,

unlike words,

the soul must deal with

the consequences of words

once its opinion has changed.

The soul

may feel

remorse,

or hurt,

or indignation.

Words

feel

nothing.

The only way

the soul

can be free

from the cunning ways

of words,

is when words

become a slave

of the soul.

A rare,

beautiful

circumstance.

Most times,

when one has made words

a slave of the soul,

they come to the realization

that deep in the human heart

it has been that way

since the beginning of time.
