Unstoppable

Yes I Can

My heart?

That old thing is filled to the brim in anguish,

it has been weighted down in my chest for years.

It drags my hopes and my dreams down to a place that no one knows how to talk about,

and it hides it with a blanket of smiles.

It tells everyone that I am okay, and that everything is fine.

But this thing that my heart has found

This darkness that holds it down?

It sits waiting and praying

You see it has hopes and dreams of its own

It hopes I never find a way to wake up and tear it open with these words,

It dreams that I never truly realize the truth behind them.

It never wants me to realize that I am beautiful and that it is okay not to be perfect.

Because god....

If I ever truly believed these words

I would be unstoppable.
