The Crow

A poem.

The Crow.

There’s voice that I hear that calls to me.

Beneath the endless noise and confusion there’s a clarity.

I turn my head to the sky it’s always you I see.

Through my solitude you remain my company.

The language is unlike one that I’ve ever heard.

Yet I am captivated by your every word.

There’s an understanding in your eyes that connects inside.

With all the secrets that live in me that I am forced to hide.

As I watch you spread your wings and fly.

I see a freedom that was never mine.

To feel the wind as you soar through the sky.

Is a feeling I’ve yearned for all of my life.

There is a knowing that I feel, we are one of the same.

I have tried to share with another but I have tried in vein.

I see you there alone...

Time and time again.

Numb to the endless...

Wind and rain.

There’s a message that you bring me...

Through a haunting song.

That brings a peace to my soul...

Makes me feel I am not wrong.

I feel...

The answers to the questions I’ve not asked...

Will soon be mine to know.

As I look at you with a half smile...

My dearest friend...

The Crow.
