D E S T R U C T I O N

Where does the self-destruction stop?

When do we tell ourselves

enough is enough.

Where do we draw the line with the ones

we love and have loved?

When do we stop giving other

people chances on chances.

When we can’t even give our own selves a chance?

Your arms around me should make me feel

then why do I feel nothing at all?

I want warmth and a home in your arms.

You came to me

full of hope,

full of dreams

…but you left me

with broken pieces of myself

that I had put together

to give someone a chance

…once again.

Let’s try to clap with one hand

That’s what he should say

when he points his finger at me

Boasting about what he’s done

Ignoring what I’ve done

Turning a blind eye to what has changed

and becoming more like what

I used to be that he didn’t like once upon a time

Until he became that person himself

hardly recognizing himself anymore

L o v e

A word that consists of four letters.

So small, yet so powerful.

It can make you and break you at the same time

Full of actions and full of dreams

You can be full of love one day

and completely empty the next.

That’s what this small, yet so powerful word can do to you.

You fight with me and I fight with you

We fight each other until we drain out

Once upon a time

I used to fight for you, not against you,

but for you

But did you ever once fight for me?

Constantly feeling like you’re drowning

makes you suffocate

Constantly fighting battles on battles

makes you wounded

Constantly being the love giver

leaves you only empty.

First year marriages

Full of bliss and honeymoon phases

What about the other side?

The confusion, the anger, and the sadness it brings.
