Red: The Love Poems by Leah James

Two true colors…

two true colors.

The world sees in two colors;

one of power, one of might;

one of dark, one of light.

Yet color; it exists for

beauty's sake.

Two true colors…

two true colors.

The world sees in two colors;

one is white; one is black;

one's affirmed; one's

attacked.

Yet beauty; it exists as

color awakes—

the world to

see in true colors

together enriching

delighting, & pleasing

together harmonizing,

completing & meeting

Two true colors…

two true colors.

Yet beauty in color does

make

two true colors…

two true colors.

Yet beauty in color does

make

the truth reveal in a world

that's misunderstood

the beauty of

complete brotherhood.

Defining two as true

to be fake...

as color awakes,

as color does make,

as color in beauty

is for goodness sake

two true colors…

two true colors.

I see two.

I see too.

I see true—

I see two.

I see too.

I see true—

I see true;

I see true;

I see true—

two true colors…

two true colors.
