My Lost Dream

A Poem Written by Me About a Boy That I Loved but Lost

The warm embrace I felt,

all over my body

tightened at the belt

when there was nobody.

I'm lost without it

and I don't know how to feel

while I'm breaking bit by bit

you're the joker I want to deal.

I miss your smile,

I have tried,

not imagining walking down the aisle

with you by my side.

I cry at the images of us

that crawl into my mind,

I can't seem to adjust

that you left it all behind.

Did it mean anything to you?

or was it all fun and games,

if only you knew

how my world erupted into flames

Everything burned, set alight

By you,

you held onto me so tight

until you let me fall through.

You're gone now,

out of my life,

but sometimes I still wonder

if I could have been your wife.
