My Girl

A Poem

I have seen the colourful Cuban coral reef...

Magical sunset of Ibiza...

Blinding bright lights of Las Vegas...

The Turkish blue bewildering seas.

The golden sands of Cyprus...

Tulip fields of Amsterdam.

I have travelled so many places...

You may say I’m a rolling stone of a man.

The grand canyon of Arizona...

Was a wonder of the world.

They were all nothing compared to the beauty I see...

When I look at you My Girl.

I’ve layed in England's green meadows.

Watched the stars in the sky at night.

Got lost in mystic awe...

In the pale moonlight.

I’ve seen treasures of many measures.

Diamonds and Pearls.

But nothing to match the beauty...

Of you My Girl.

From the second you opened your eyes.

Mine were reopened to life anew.

I found every answer to every question...

Wrapped up inside of you.

My Sun rises and sets with you.

You are my world.

I’ve never seen or will ever see again such beauty...

As I see in you My Girl.

About the Creator

Steven Baldry

I have been writing Poetry since I was a teenager. Now in my late thirties I enjoy it more than ever. I find it a wonderful release and it helps me to free my mind and understand myself and my emotions.
