Love Poem Pt. II

there are days to remember.

when the sun shines,

and your smile holds its light.

and when you spread out the blanket

on grass thick enough to hold up our bodies,

i smile

and sigh, "can this moment last forever?"

and just as the imprint our bodies make in the grass

will unfurl at the wind's nudging,

the moment passes.

but i will sit,

and smile,

and sigh,

when i remember the spring wind.

and the love-light in your eyes.

i carry these moments with me,

just as i carry you,

gently and firmly in my heart.
