Love Means Letting Go

Why did you have to leave?

I watched them take you away and lay you in the ground, on that sad August day. Not even the warmth of the sun, could take away the heartbreak that came from saying goodbye. I stood there in silence, all I could think of was why?

Why did you have to leave? Why did you have to go? I just want you to know, that I love you so. But if there's one thing I've learned its that sometimes love means letting go.

You were my best friend for so many years. You were there through my laughter, my pain, my tears. But one day the years took their toll and you began to fade. The day I watched you leave this world, in my heart there was a big hole. I wasn't ready to say goodbye, and I will always ask myself why?

Why did you have to leave? Why did you have to go? I just want you to know, that I love you so. But if there's one thing I've learned it's that sometimes love means letting go.

We were together for a short while, you always knew how to make me smile, it's time for me to make a fresh start, but you will always have a place in my heart. I leaned on you for too long. But because of you I am strong. Now I must say goodbye, and now I understand why.

I really must leave, I really must go. But I want you to know, that I love you so. But if there's one thing I've learned it's that sometimes love means letting go.

I know that I have to let go.
