Losing Ground

Feeling Turned Around

The animals chirp and play in the trees

As I walk through the calm autumn breeze

Such a lovely day, the sun shines down

leaves are turning and falling to the ground.

Gliding along this common path

Comfortable know where I’m at.

The trees all around

Whisper in the wind

Nice to see you my friend.

The sky darkens the clouds roll in

I need to seek shelter from the wind.

No longer friendly, torturous and distraught.

Down comes the pouring rain it has brought.

Huddled under a large rock, almost the mouth of a cave.

How far does this entrance go? Shall I venture further or stay where I can see the forest?

Curiosity gets the best of me.

Now I’m stuck here, in the cold, dark, wet cave.

Where is my rescuer, can I even be saved?

Is this the place,

The dark lonely place where I shall stay.

I don’t want to be here.

I want to run away, but I’ve lost my sense of direction.

Which way is out, which tunnel leads further down.

Which path should I take?

I think I’m just stuck here,

I don’t know how to get out.

Wont someone please hear me pleading.

Please pull me out!
