Inside My Body

Fibromyalgia

Inside my body is a young woman full of life

Ready to jump and run and dance all night long

Inside my body is strength and truth

Ready for any challenge life throws at me

Inside my body is dreams of the future

Waiting to come true

Inside my body is an athlete

Ready to compete

Inside my body is a witty mind

Waiting for conversation

Inside my body is an enemy

Killing me everyday

Inside my body is pain and depression

Sucking energy from my soul

Inside my body is fear of the future

Terrified I won't survive

Inside my body is an invalid

Trapping me in bed

Inside my body is an Alzheimer patient

Stopping me from remembering

Fibromyalgia isn't terminal

It is a life sentence that ends in death

Fibromyalgia doesn't kill physically

It just stops life from being lived

Merely survived
