I've Been Looking at the Sun Lately

I've been hearing a lot lately that the world is ending.

But how can it be ending if I've only just started living?

I've been looking at the sun lately: it coming up in the morning, it going down at night. Telling me the beginning and ending of everyday I have on this earth.

I've been trying to revel in the things that make me happy lately:

Her eyes

The mat

A child's laugh

A puppy's lick

Simple things. I've been trying to appreciate them more lately.

I've been trying to be present lately, to understand all that I have guaranteed is now.

I've been trying to read on religion and holy books lately, hoping to find answers we all seek.

I've been hoping there's a heaven more lately, because I love this life so much that I don't want it to ever end.

I've been looking at the sun lately, checking every day I have. Asking for it to stay just a little bit longer.
