“Do you taste as sweet as sugar?” he asked
She reflected….
She used to be like a fine white table sugar; adding sweetness to all she mingled with, even the rejected
Overtime, as she combined; her soul became burnt too many times
Now she drips of a sweeter nectar
Different from the plain white stuff she’d been lending cup after cup of
Giving and giving with no return of the sweet love
Nowadays, Golden tones of luscious caramel flow deep through her veins
A different hue from the innocence she was accustomed too
The tables have finally turned, as she’s learned
Without embellish, she has to be selfish
“Not just any man can relish”
