Forgotten Birthdays

A Poem

It was your birthday, I know, I didn't forget, I just chose not to acknowledge it.

It was your birthday, same as last year but I chose to ignore it, I chose to not relive that hurt, pain, I chose to restrain from that.

It was your birthday but you took that with you, so I'm keeping

my tears,

fears

after all these years of

living,

grieving

believing and feeling.

did you think about me?

did you think about us three?

did you realise the hurt and confusion you would cause before you made that cut?

no,

was your hurt so deep?

did you weep?

did you just need eternal sleep?

It was your birthday I know, I didn't forget, I will never forget because I know if you could you wouldn't forget mine.
