Forever Last

Poem for My Daughter

When I look out the window

I see you play

You grow bigger

Each and every day

I remember when you were smaller

Not very big at all

You could barely stand

But, now you run and play

Your eyes full of wonder

As you sing your favorite song

You make mommy so proud

I can't help but, hum along

As I watch you lay down to sleep

My heart skips a beat

As your little hand

Wraps around mine

And you say

I love you mommy

I slowly walk away

As your eyes gently close

I think about the years that have passed

Wishing that this moment

Would forever last
