Fate

False

It's not real.

Fate is not real.

People like to talk about fate

as this sacred path, created by some all-powerful being,

that leads us on this perfect journey.

It isn't always good,

but the bad parts are just lessons.

The struggles are teachings,

the misfortunes are opportunities to become better.

And at the end,

we're supposed to go right where we were

"Meant to be."

To all those who believe in this fairy tale,

This fantasy,

This lie of epic proportions...

You are allowed to live your life how you want,

but I don't want to let the flight path of life

be decided by whatever happens.

I don't want to turn on the autopilot,

and with a heart full of confidence

just lay back and say,

"Take me to happiness."

If this is how I lived,

I'd be practically doomed to fail.

If I always trusted in fate,

if I always put life on autopilot,

if I always labelled the mistakes I make as "God's way,"

I'd be shifting the blame,

the responsibility,

the cause of my own actions

away from myself and placing it onto this path.

This belief,

this word

that we call fate.

If this is you...

You are not taking responsibility for your actions.

You're pointing fingers,

you are shrugging your arms with "not my fault."

You're being a spectator,

where life if driving you.

That could not be farther from the truth.

You have control over life,

You are the main act,

You drive life,

Not the other way around.

You have the choice every day

to work on your dreams.

You have the opportunity

to create your future.

You have the ability

to use your abilities

and create your best reality.

But at the end of the day,

You did that.

Not fate.

Not the autopilot.

You did.

If that's what you do,

Own it.

Be proud.

God didn't help you.

The Lord didn't give you this success.

You made it yourself.

Do not label your hard work as fate.

You make your own future.

That's your responsibility,

that's your blessing,

that's your one gift as a person on this Earth.

So use it.
