Color

What is color?

I learnt it was a spectrum of light

But it's used for distinction between black and white

What is race?

I learnt it was a competition of athleticism 

But for some it's a reason for a longer sentence to prison

What is fear?

An emotion most felt when you're scared they say

But it's one some people live in day after day.

What is 'difference'?

Well it's the commonalities not shared between two or more persons or things

But it's long been used to justify who's more deserving 

But aren't we all human?

Isn't our blood all the same?

If you were to need it one day,

Would you have time to care from which body it came?

Who has scarred the child within you?

Who has taught them of this hate?

I say we heal the wounded children within,

And a better world we'll surely create.
