A blackbird soars across the light blue cloudless sky.
The bird is easy to see, with its feathers the color of midnight, contrasting against the light. The blackbird soars without care because she knows the secrets and wisdom that lead to higher knowledge. The bird knows that the seasons of life can change in a moment, yet she lives without worry. The blackbird has the power to understand things unseen. She looks at life as if it is the ever-changing tide. She looks into the future knowing they have pure potential. The blackbird finds purity in the light and in the darkness. She believes in the impossible.
I am a blackbird.
I began as a weak hatch-ling, but slowly I gained strength. I practiced balancing on the branches right outside my nest. Then I slowly learned to fly. Repeatedly I fall and struggle through life. At times, it seems like it will be impossible to make it to the next day. Sometimes it feels impossible to be happy, but then I remember nothing is impossible. I know my worries are not helpful. I tell myself that I am strong and I am in control. I remember the knowledge life has given to me. I know I have all the opportunities. I am a blackbird. I am seeking knowledge of things that are greater than I am. I will fly to new heights to find myself, to gain my full potential.
I am Raven.
