Beautiful Childhood

A Poem

My memories are full

Of love

Laughing and playing or yelling

Despite and because of this

We love one another

I remember

Lying

Like puppies on the floor

Curled up

Sharing our blankets

And our time

I remember

Safety

Feeling secure at night

And knowing that

I am loved

I remember

Following them

Chasing

Trying to catch up and be

Part of their team

I remember

Summer nights

Passed with bonfires

And games

Hide-and-seek

Among the trees

Inside the dark

I remember

A beautiful childhood

Full of love
