Another Mass Murder

A Poem

2018, living in a world, it’s nothing but cold.

Kid was nothing but 19-years-old.

Cold blooded killer didn’t care about anyone else’s life.

On social media, showing weapons, practically telling us that he was gonna strike.

Went to the school, lured them out, starting firing everything that he had.

Parents getting messages from their kids, saying they’re scared, it’s actually really sad.

Seventeen dead, others injured, it was the 18th shooting just for this year.

When did getting an education become something that we had to fear?

Heartbroken families, traumatized kids, they’ll never be the same again.

All because this kid got his hands on a gun, and decided that it was time for their lives to end.

President Trump, sends his condolences, when he should be figuring out a solution instead.

Tell me what you’re doing to prevent this kind of tragedy from ever happening again.

You want to build a wall, forget the immigrants, focus on the real issues instead.

“Let’s make America great again” isn’t that the one thing that you always said?

Sending out stupid tweets, starting beef, with North Korea making it borderline war.

When you should be trying to stop all the mass shootings, before there are any more.

Second month of the year, eighteen shootings, how’s this not at the top of your list.

You’re starting to look lost, get your head out of your ass, is there something that I missed?

And to the ones who lost a loved one, I’m sorry, I can’t imagine that kind of grief.

And to the ones who lost their lives, I hope and I pray, that you can rest in peace.
