Stop Violence

Cops shooting blacks, when I hear sirens my life feels endangered...

Worried about my cousins, my brothers and my ol lady...

I'm trying to stop the violence but deputy can you hear me...

The streets are getting quiet, stop undermining the voices of the future...

Look at your leader in power, undermining the voices of the nation...

Got his entire family in positions...

Ready to jeopardize our families futures.

Birthdays ain't the same anymore...

Upcoming days, don't even feel the same anymore...

Nowadays, I gotta give up something while I wait for it...

My friends are trying to get me to go out more...

But what are the chances of me making it back home tomorrow....

Do I get hit with a stray bullet aimed for the person across...

Or is it one of my homies who doesn't want to live to see me grow up...

I should be spending my night partying with my friends at the club....

But tragedies only seem to follow those who are aiming for the stars....

Flashing lights & yellow tapes, who gon tell my momma about her boy...

Not another white cop reporting a black on black story....

Which has yet to come to an abrupt...

21st century, man I shouldn't be this disturbed...

Every man got a gun...

Ready to unload before you turn 21...

This epidemic has got to be stopped...

Black communities please remember that together we stand strong...

If we live for each other, there wouldn't be a need for all this senseless violence....

I know you miss your brother, your friend or your mans if that's what you refer to him as...

But that gun on yo hip will never take away the pain of losing your entourage when you get into a cross fire...

Just broken memories and time to heal all of those moments...

Inside you must be devastated reading all the RIP comments...

But the difference lies within you...

When decide not to go n shoot him...

We can all make a difference...

As we're all victims to this cruel world...

Let's stand for each other...

& remember that Black only cracks when bodies drop to the pavement....

Take a deep breath, my brother...

How many regrets before u end up on that corner...

Or maybe in a penitentiary, wishing for another...

While your kids lives are in jeopardy, hanging on to their mother...

Don't you be selfish my n***a,

don't you be selfish,

don't you do that to your blood

Don't you do that to your daughter,

Oh no, not your son

Don't you be foolish my n***a

Don't you be selfish,

you might not care but they matter to us

that's just another kid having to grow up w/o a dad...

In America, we blacks have got to stop this trend...

This life has already been hard knocks for us...

Coming from slavery & having our minerals snatched from us...

Don't you see America tryna take everything away from us....

Are we too blinded by flashy cars and high profile celebrities wealth....

Well the future lies in our hands, so go ahead and make your bed...

When you wake up from it, go ahead and play the cards you were dealt.
